Benefit Matching Program

Mountain Fresh Farmers Market matches SNAP/EBT, Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), and eWIC Fruit & Vegetable Benefits!  This is a way to encourage lower-income neighbors to shop at the market, supporting our local farmers!

ATTENTION: due to cuts in federal funding, match is now limited to $10 per person, per market day until further notice.  ​

How does it work for our customers? 

SNAP/EBT:  Swipe your SNAP/EBT (formerly food stamps) independence card at the market benefit table (look for the stop signs at the upper end of the pavilion).  If you swipe for $10 in SNAP, you get $10 in red wooden SNAP tokens and another $10 in matching blue plastic tokens!  All $20 in tokens can be spent on SNAP-eligible foods and food-bearing plants with our vendors at the market.  Limit $10 in match per person, per day. 

FMNP, WIC and Senior Benefits (Farmers Market Nutrition Program):  
WIC recipients receive these benefits from the local WIC office.   
Seniors get theirs from the Senior Centers.  
First, spend your benefits at a farmer's table by showing them your QR code. See our vendors page to learn which vendors accept FMNP.  After the farmer scans your QR code for payment, they will give you a receipt with the value of the transaction circled.  Take that receipt to the market benefit table (look for the stop signs at the upper end of the pavilion).  You will receive the same value up to $10 per day in blue match tokens to spend on SNAP-eligible foods and food-bearing plants at the market.   Limit $10 in match per person, per day. 

eWIC Fruit & Vegetable Benefits (FVB):  
WIC recipients receive these benefits from the local WIC office. 
​First, spend your benefits at a farmer's table by showing them the barcode in the Bnft app.  See our vendors page to learn which vendors accept eWIC FVB. ​ After the farmer enters your eWIC FVB transaction and scans the barcode in your phone's Bnft app, they will give you a receipt with the value of the transaction circled.  Take that receipt to the market benefit table (look for the stop signs at the upper end of the pavilion).  You will receive the same value in blue match tokens to spend on SNAP-eligible foods and food-bearing plants at the market.   Limit $10 in match per person, per day.
